MICRO MOTORS
Buying and selling
Find your next model
Search by model, brand or part, then filter by item type, manufacturer, scale and condition. Save favourites to your account. Read the description, photographs and separate vehicle and packaging condition before agreeing a sale. For parts, check scale and compatibility.
Request, pay and track a marketplace item
Choose Request to buy on a marketplace listing. The first request reserves the whole listing for that buyer; no other purchase request can be made while it is held. The seller accepts in the private conversation and shares payment instructions and the agreed postage or pickup arrangement. For example, the seller can share a PayID or discuss an eBay payment request. Micro Motors does not create eBay requests or process marketplace payments.
The seller selects Confirm payment received only after checking the money has arrived. This is the seller’s statement, not payment verification by Micro Motors. Then open Seller dashboard → Orders & tracking to enter or scan the parcel’s tracking number, choose the carrier and confirm dispatch. A barcode scanner that types into the tracking field can be used; the site does not read carrier scans or buy postage. The buyer confirms receipt in Messages; for pickup, the buyer confirms handover instead.
A buyer can cancel an unpaid request and the seller can decline it. After acceptance, they must confirm that no payment was sent or received before releasing the listing. Requests do not expire automatically. Paid or shipped sales remain reserved, including during a delivery dispute or cancellation; arrange any refund directly and contact Micro Motors for help. Existing conversations and delivery records remain available.
Micro Motors Store
Items sold by Micro Motors itself use a separate Micro Motors Store with a normal basket and checkout. The marketplace reservation and direct-payment process applies to other sellers’ listings.
A question or custom quote alone does not reserve an item. Use Request to buy when ready. Keep passwords, card numbers and banking login details out of messages.
Membership
Free membership includes browsing, buying, messages, saved listings and a free active-listing allowance shown on Membership. Optional Plus is AUD $5 per month with unlimited active listings, bulk draft creation, saved-search alerts on the website and private collection tools. There is no sales commission. Membership renewal is manual; no card is required and there are no automatic charges. Request an upgrade or renewal from Membership. Plus starts or extends after the team confirms your membership renewal.
You can stop renewing or switch to Free from Membership. Existing listings are preserved. If you are above the Free allowance, pause listings before submitting new ones. Existing messages, deliveries and collection records remain available; you can still view and export your collection. Bulk imports, collection edits and search alerts pause on Free. Existing introductory or paid membership time is honoured.
Plus tools
Bulk listing accepts up to 25 CSV rows per batch. Preview the details and create private drafts, then add photographs and submit each through the normal listing editor. My collection & search alerts lets you keep a private inventory and save catalogue searches. Search alerts appear when you open the page; no email or SMS is sent. Alerts show new matches among the latest 100 matching listings. Collection records are separate from public sale listings.
Custom Build IDs and QR certificates
Custom Build IDs gives each approved finished custom car a permanent Micro Motors serial number, a public build record and a printable QR certificate. The record includes the maker’s chosen public name, build details, photographs, issue date and withdrawal status. Scan the QR code or enter the serial number in the Build Registry to view the record. This is a separate service from Plus; pricing has not been set.
Makers submit the actual car’s details and photographs for review, then confirm the permanent record before its ID is issued. An ID identifies a maker-submitted record; it does not independently authenticate a car or prove ownership. Compare the actual car with its recorded details and photographs. Labels and QR codes can be copied.
Secure NFC tags — in development
We are exploring small NFC tags that let a phone check the chip as well as open the build record. Secure NFC tags are not available yet. An ordinary NFC tag can open the record, but locking its link against rewriting does not prevent copying it.
NFTs — Coming soon
Optional NFT minting is planned for a later release. NFT sign-up and minting are currently unavailable. You do not need a crypto wallet for a Custom Build ID or QR certificate. Item payment stays directly between buyer and seller.
